The special exhibition "The Beauty of European Handicrafts" in the Japan Folk Crafts Museum in Tokyo
Friday, 17 November 2023

Hello,
We went to the special exhibition"Murata Collection Commemoration: Beauty of Western Crafts,'' will be held at the Japan Folk Crafts Museum in Komaba, Tokyo, until November 23rd (Thursday, holiday).
This exhibition was held after the Japan Folk Crafts Museum received a donation of the collection collected by the late Mr. Shinzo Murata and his wife Yoko throughout their lives.300 pieces carefully selected from a collection of 800 pieces will be on display, and you can see a wide range of wonderful pieces, from pottery to glass, woodwork such as chairs, and metalwork which had been used by common people in ordinary lives mainly from the 16th to the 19th century in Europe.
It was such a wonderful exhibit that we couldn't help but wish that this wonderful technology and culture, which no longer exists, would be inherited. The exhibition is available until November 23rd (Thursday, a public holiday), so why not come and take a closer look? You can also purchase illustrated catalogs at the Mingeikan shop, so be sure to check them out !!!
