Exhibition Okinawa Yomitanzanyaki Kitagama kiln by Kyoshi MATSUDA
Friday, 9 October 2026

Hello,
We are pleased to announce our upcoming solo exhibition.
Starting next week, from Saturday, October 17th to Saturday, October 24th, we will be hosting a solo exhibition for Kyoshi Matsuda from Yomitanzanyaki Kitagama in Okinawa, Japan. The event will take place at our brick-and-mortar shop, "Kogei Keaton," located in Kamimachi, Setagaya, Tokyo.
It has already been four years since his last exhibition with us.
This time, the exhibition will exclusively feature works crafted by Kyoshi Matsuda himself.
Due to its geographical and historical background, Okinawa has developed its own unique culture, lifestyle, and language under various influences. While many people think of a specific style when they hear the word "Yachimun" (Okinawan pottery), this exhibition will offer new discoveries, showing that a wide variety of pieces were actually made in Okinawa in the old days.
We sincerely invite you to visit the exhibition and enjoy each piece, one by one.
If you are curious about the shapes, clay, glazes, or the stories behind them, please feel free to ask Mr. Matsuda. He will be at the shop for the first three days of the exhibition. We look forward to welcoming you all.
Please note that our physical shop, "Kogei Kedon," will be temporarily closed on Thursday, October 15th, and Friday, October 16th, to prepare for the exhibition. Thank you for your understanding.
